July 2, 2012 - Rough Night

We had a rough night with the Baby last night, he really didn't sleep very much.  The Husband and I were really tired and we kept dozing off while the Baby was awake in our bed.  I kept waking up and the baby had crawled off to the headboard, or only the Husband.  It is really hard to stay awake when the Baby is up and you are so tired.  I know we could have put him in his crib, but when I do that, he cries unless I am right beside him or holding him.  It is really frustrating when he won't sleep, it's not like I can nap during the day when I have two other kids to care for!

Today we visiting the Husband's Mom and Sister (and family).  It was really nice for the kids to see their cousin J, they really like spending time with her.  The Boy used to spend a lot of time with her when my Mother-in-Law was watching him, so they have a special bond.  J took them over to the park for a few minutes, I think they had fun.  My Mother-in-Law sent us home with food for dinner, so we didn't ned to cook, which is always great!  The photos above are a recreation of a photo of the Husband that was taken when he was about 7 or 8 years old. He is outside his mother's house wearing a superman shirt.  So to have a little fun, we took a photo of all the boys wearing their superman shirts out front of my Mother-in-Law's house. 

July 1, 2012 - Happy Birthday Canada

Today the Baby is 9 months old. I can't believe my maternity leave is 3/4 over already! This month the Baby started crawling, cruising and is still teething badly. He is such a happy baby, when he's not in pain from his teeth. He smiles and laughs a lot and enjoys playing with the Girl and the Boy. He really loves musical toys and is great at amusing himself, as long as I am in the room.  He is super clingy with me, I can't speak or make an appearance in a room with him in it if I don't want to end up holding him. He also climbs all over me and likes to stick his pointy toes into my legs. He also loves looking at photos. I'm not sure if he recognizes people in the photos or not, but he sure laughs and smiles when he sees himself or his siblings in photos.

We had a BBQ at our house today.  It was a lot of fun.  The Boy missed the beginning because he was at a birthday party.  The Girl and the Boy got to swim in the pool with their Aunt and Uncle and had lots of fun in the yard.  The Baby enjoyed being passed around.  We all enjoyed hearing about my parents trip to Alaska (they just got home on Saturday night).  The kids and I missed them lots!  We had yummy burgers cooked by the Husband and delicious salads and desserts.  It was a wonderful night and a great way to celebrate Canada's 145th birthday!

June 30, 2012 - Saturday

Today we went to the market in the morning and picked up some tomatoes, strawberries, cherries and a apple strudel. In the afternoon we went grocery shopping.  We were well into the store when they announced their credit and debit weren't working.  So we headed over to their bank machine to take out some cash, but the machine was out of order too! So it was back into the van and off to another grocery store.  Turns out their credit and debit also was out of order, but they at least had a functioning ATM machine. We got our groceries and returned home. How annoying!   Nothing like loading three kids into the van and having to go to two different grocery stores:(
