January 8, 2012 - Christmas Tree and Scrapbooking

Today was Sunday. The last day of the Christmas break (thank goodness!)  I can't wait until they are back in school and we are back to normal around here.   The tree is still up and I have until Tuesday night to get it down or else I will have to take my own tree to the recycling centre.  I'd rather avoid that!!
The main tree in our family room was decorated almost entirely by me.  The Girl helped a bit and the Boy helped a little less.  The Husband helped with the lights, which needed someone with electrical experience, since they were so missed up.   The photo above is my living room with the tree still lit up.  This was our first real Christmas tree and in our current home I wanted it in the bay window and to be as large as possible.  I think the Husband picked up a 7 or 8 foot tree and it looked beautiful.  I loved the way it made my living room look so warm and inviting.  I shall wait for next year before I can have this feeling again.

The Girl has started a new hobby.  She has a scrapbook and has been making her own pages for a little while now.  I love the page that she did (above) of her brother.  She needs a little help with cutting out the paper to place behind her photos, but she has the idea.  I think she will only get better with practice.

The Baby is still adorable, and so much fun. This photo is of him 'riding' our cat Miley.  She didn't really care.  The Baby is going through a little growth spurt right now (3 months) and so we are giving him formula because my milk supply isn't sufficient.  He loves the bottles and has a sastified look on his face when he is finished.  This makes me a little sad, because I love breastfeeding and was hoping to do this until his first birthday!  I will try to keep it up, even if it is less then half of his milk consumption, because I believe every feeding of breastmilk, no matter how small is better than none at all.
