We spent today in the car. We left the house around 3:20am and arrived at our destination at 6:15pm. It was a long day, but the kids did amazing. I am thankful for that. Even the Baby did pretty well, considering he spent most of the day in his car seat. I am thankful, for my wonderful husband, he drove most of the day, only taking a short break while I relieved him. The scenery was beautiful, and I found it especially pretty when we were in Virginia and West Virginia.
One scary thing that happed today was while we were in West Virginia. We were driving along, and a car zooms past us and then gets in front of us and slows down. We change lanes and then he gets in front of us again. This happened for about 10 miles before he finally chose someone else to play with and eventually got off the high way. The one silver lining to the whole somewhat scary experience, was when we stopped at a light and the second car that he was playing with rolls down his window and apologizes to us for him (I suppose on behalf of their state).

For breakfast, we went to the Dor-Stop Restaurant in Pittisburgh, PA. They were featured on an episode of Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives. The restaurant is known for their pancakes and french toast, and they didn't dissapoint. I had chocolate chip pancakes and they were amazing.

For lunch we stopped at McDonald's in Summerside which was in West Virginia. For Dinner we went to Carolina BBQ, in Statesville, NC. We were pretty excited about going to a real southern BBQ restaurant. The Husband had brisket and he enjoyed it, my Sister-In-Law had the ribs and said they were good. I had the chopped pork, unfortunately I was disapointed, the pork was dry and lacked a hot sauce. There was sauce on the table, however the mild wasn't very flavourful and the hot was odd, and a little watery. I did have corn nuggets, sweet potato sticks and hush puppies. I had never had any of those items, and I have to admit the corn nuggets were my favourite. They were little drops of battered creamed corn. Very reminiscnet of a state fair, but very yummy. The hush puppies were kind of like a deep fried bread. They had a distinct onion flavor, but that was about all. The sweet potato sticks were good, mashed sweet potatos that were fried to be crispy on the outside and soft and creamy on the inside. Very nice. I know that my dinner wasn't at all low calorie, but I did enjoy my southern dinner.

I can't wait for tomorrow!
