Today we got up bright and early to start our long journey home. It is bittersweet to be heading home. On one side our fun vacation is over, on the other end we get to sleep in our own beds and get back into our routine at home. We made our first stop in Maryland (after searching for gas at two different exits). The Husband proclaimed that he did not like that state, but we really didn`t give it a fair shake. We just picked two exits where the gas was not close to the interstate!
We stopped for lunch in Somerset, PA, which was along the Pennsylvania State Freeway. We stopped at Wendy`s. The food was great, but the restaurant was in poor repair and very dirty. I wonder why, most other places we stopped along the highway were in much better condition. Even the Starbucks across the road looked cleaner and more updated than the Wendy's. 
Our next stop was at a rest stop between Pittsburgh and Erie, we let the kids out of the car to run around and burn off some of their energy. Then it was back into the car until we got to the New York Interstate about 1/2 hour outside Buffalo. We found a gas station and a Tim Horton's! Seeing that Timmy's proved that we were getting closer to Canada and home, it was a nice sight!!We crossed the border at Fort Erie with no problems. He asked a few questions and sent us on our way. We managed to do the Buffalo to Toronto leg without stopping. When we arrived in Toronto, we dropped off the kids Aunt and had pizza and drinks before going home to Brampton.
It was late when we finally arrived home, so I decided to keep the Boy out of school in the morning, and just send him in the afternoon.
